Aspar and Aulion are cousins. Their mother were sister's so Aulion received name after Aspar's mother. Despite the fact that Aspar's mother had 10 kids (with two different partners) her had only one child. In a Saiyan society it was very odd and unusual to have only one child. Socially supported minimum was two kids. The partners with only one child and with no plans for another were considered strange and harmful because they didn't help to increase the population numbers. And in society of warriors numbers were critcally important. Aulion parents never told her why she is their only child. But Aulion was never bothered by this. She had a very large family.

Despite the fact that Aulion was born as a first class warrior she never displayed willingness to the fight. She prefered to play dolls or pick flowers or comb her cousin Aspar's hair (which he didn't like) rather than fight. It was a great dissapoitnemnt to her parents and especially to her father. When Aulion was old enough to realize she is disapoiting her parents she totally changed her attitude. She desperately wanted her father approval of her. So she started to train really hard and increase her power level. She became a real warrior but deep inside she hated that life, yet how long the father appreciated her so long she pushed herself to be even stronger for him. After some time she became an mercenary and along with Aspar she left planet Vegeta. There were two reasons for that. In that way she could make her father proud without prooving him everyday how Saiyanish she is and she could finally leave planet Vegete on which surface she felt alienated and alone.
