They call Shepard by her/his last name. Not the first name, even though your companions are suppose to be your friend. Though, you choose you name so they couldn't say it.

This bothered me too but it helps so you don't have to record every line twice (for John and Jane) and it gives players the possibility to name their character, so I guess that's fine...
But it's weird when you're in love and all intimate and still on a last name basis.

to be fair, calling a friend by their last name is actually common in a place like the army or where people tend to be adressed by their last name.
